Vacation in Vermont

DAY 1: ARRIVAL
Checked in at our hotel about 2PM, and then took a quick walk to the lake front and ended up spending the afternoon at the Burlington Aquarium.

DAY 2: SHELBURNE FARMS
With the weather expected to be rainy throughout the day, we decided to stay close to home base and explored Shelburne Farms just south of Burlington. The picture below show us at the garden, the lake front, and playing with the chickens. Many more pictures have been loaded on Facebook here. We finished the long day in downtown Burlington at the Vermont Brewery for dinner - I highly recommend it - with desert at Ben and Jerry's scoop shop and a quick stop at Borders.

DAY 3: AUSABLE CHASM
Crossed Lake Champlain by ferry and spent the day at Ausable Chasm in New York state - hiking, rafting, and even inner tubing the rapids. More pictures on Facebook here.

DAY 4: STOWE
The main event of the day was Stowe Resort, about 45 minutes from Burlington. Summer activities include an alpine slide, climbing wall, trampoline jump - but also a Gondola ride to the top of Mt. Mansfield, highest mountain in Vermont. More pictures on Facebook here. On the way out we also stopped at Ben and Jerry's for a factory tour.

DAY 5: WILLOUGHBY LAKE
We spent the night at a friend's house adjacent to Willoughby Lake in northern (and much more rural) Vermont. With rain, wind, and cold we weren't able to canoe and kayak as planned.
